Membership

            The Agricultural and Food Marketing Association for Asia and the Pacific finances its operations from membership contributions and receives financial support from international agencies. The membership in the association is open to:

  • National and State level governments through appropriate ministries, departments and other institutions which are involved in planning and policy formulating, management and regulatory functions and other supporting functions such as grading, inspection, etc., for the food and agricultural marketing system;

  • National and State level government departments, statutory bodies, government corporations or apex cooperative associations which are responsible for food and agricultural marketing;

  • National-level institutions which are involved in training and research in food and agricultural marketing;

  • Private sector companies and associations, active in the field of agricultural and food marketing, processing, packaging, trading, etc. and

  • Individual professionals who are working in the field of food and agricultural marketing and associated activities.

Fees and benefits

            The membership fee comprises an annual fee and, for new members, an admission fee. The admission fee is for first time applicants only and payable only once. Duration of membership is 12 months starting at the beginning of the month after the application has been accepted.

            The AFMA member will benefit from discounted registration fees for certain AFMA activities*. The AFMA member will also benefit from the exchange of technical knowledge, advice on policy.  All members will receive the AFMA newsletter and other related publications.  Besides, members can advertise their organization and activities in the AFMA newsletter at a discounted rate or for free**. Institutional members will be provided one link to their organization from the AFMA website.

            There are four categories of AFMA memberships, with different fees and benefits.
